Vietnam is definitely a country I want to visit on my extended Asia vacation. I’ve heard so many good things about the place that it is a wonder I haven’t been there yet.

And the good news is that Vietnam vacations are going to be cheaper this year.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism announced that they will run a promotional campaign from January to September.

In these promotions, many hotels will have their rates cut by at least 30 percent, and some will cut them by up to 50 percent.

Hey, if that isn’t good news then what is?

Because it means I can explore this fascinating country even longer… On the same budget!

And what’s more, I may fly to Hanoi or Ho Chi Mingh because in the promotions Vietnam Airlines are to reduce the price of their international and domestic flights. Again by up to 50 percent.

This promotional campaign is thought to counteract the economic gloom in Vietnam tourism that has been the result of the global financial crisis.

Vietnam, here I come!
